The Singapore flyer experience. 22/08/08

The Rajasekarans headed down to the Singapore flyer this past friday as part of Aetos family day celebrations which is btw the company that my dad has been working for. Prior to our trip there i have been going online to do some research about the Singapore flyer and from where i was sitting everything seems so impressive,the beautiful structure,the fact that we will be 165m high up in the air,the eye dropping charges for the ticket just to name a few. We were lucky cos dad got the tickets for us at a knock down price of just 10 bucks each,the actual prices are as follows,Adult:$29.50,Child:$20.65 and Senior citizens:$23.60.Just in case u need more information abt the flyer,visit this webbie http://www.singaporeflyer.com/. The ticket stated that we have to be there by 6pm,we left our house at 515 n even called for a cab but just our luck that of all days the singapore traffic decided to get congested on the day we had a rare family outing.We reached there ard 630 n thankfully the lady at the counter said we could still get into the flyer.Phew. We first had to go through this security check like the ones they have in Changi airport before we were allowed to get in to the capsule,the capsule is the place where ull be in the flyer as it takes off,well literally. After we got thru the security checks,we were again stopped by the staffs working there,we were told to stand close on the ramp n look straight. ?? Exactly..We just did as we were told n only later did we realised that our picture was being taken n we can 'collect' it later as wad the staff told. We did 'collect' the pic later with a fee of $15 and theres actually a further 12 bucks more if u wan another copy. Typical Singaporean money making methods.We finally went into the capsule along with the other people,one capsule btw can hold abt 30 plus people.Thankfully ours wasnt really that crowded.Haha,mum was petrified to be there and just sat down throughout the whole journey which was said to be 30 mins but i just find the time go by pretty fast.I was trying to get some good scenery pics from inside the capsule but all i saw were roads,vehicles,sea on the side n buildings.Lol i just captured wadever i could n of course of the familia so much so dat i didnt have time to take a pic of myself in the capsule. ! The thing is the capsule is actually moving around but you cant seem to realise it,it seems as if its just staying in one place. It wasnt what i expected it to be but heck it was a good family bonding trip n i can say that i have been in the Singapore flyer. Lol. I would just recommend it those people who wants to go there for the experience other den that its not worth the high prices u pay for the ticket..

After the ride we took some more pics in the night surroundings and than proceeded to have our dinner. The Aetos pple organised a buffet dinner which was ok but the lamb gravy was really good. :D While we were having our dinner this photographer whom i think was hired to be there approached me n asked if i wanted him to take a family pic of us,i didnt want to say yes n later get charged 50 bucks for it for which i would rather take the pic myself,i guess he read my mind n said no no its free. Haha! The pic turned out pretty good n its hanging proudly in my living room as i type.
